Im also not a big fan of ETFs because of TER and stuff, so i thought im just going to build my own little ETF with no more than 30 positions. I did however only look for things that are relatively safe and may not have the biggest growth to be expected but increase their dividend steadily, so not much risk to it im afraid if you really are looking for that.
Anyway i got: MMM, ADDYY, KO, HD, MCD, NSRGF, STAG, WMT
Planning on adding: LIN, O, GBERF, WELL, BTI, PG, RHHBY, DEO and way later down the line maybe WM, RIO, UNP.
Also good alternatives i would say: CAT, JNJ/PFE, BRK.B, FDX, AXP
