Why so defensive? Person was clearly joking about US blowing enormous amounts of cash on military nonsense.
But to get technical - about 30 billion in Ukraine aid has been direct financial aid. There are quite literally billions being funneled directly into Ukranian banks, largely to help with Ukraine's decimated economy, finance the government and humanitarian relief.
You can find exactly where the money is going, and how the aid is allocated (presidential drawdown, USAI, FMFP, etc.), and percentage that is direct cash, equipment donations, reinvestment in US military, etc. through sites like the Council on Foreign Relations, Kiel institute, where data is public.
Out of $175 billion pledged, $106 billion is direct aid (including direct cash transfers), $52 billion in military aid, and the remaining is split into a dozen or so different programs that also includes additional cash transfers (including grants and loans).
