Hi all, I'm 23 and I started investing last month. Most of the content I see here seems to be from older individuals nearing retirement with larger salaries.
I live fairly modestly and I make about 30k a year while in graduate school. I want to invest half of my savings, which is only around $400 a month in perpetuity (at least until I get a better job).
Currently I have 2 shares each of AFFL, O, and CVX and a share of SMH.
I'm looking for a long term investment to supplement income throughout my life. I'm thinking of going VTI and another index. Anyone have a good suggestion specifically for someone as young as I am?
