Y'all have no idea how to trade in the Circus Casino. It's all about profit maxing. The house will win. Taxes are a bitch. Trade like me.

So trusting company X is bad, but trusting company Y is good? Ok then, good luck.

Borrowed conviction of trust in management execution. That’s how you get all these crazy emotional swings. People have no idea what anything means and no idea what the plan is (that’s on purpose). So there is too much missing information to go on for people to trust it.
People struggle solving for Y when they only have X and Z in front of them.

My dad enjoyed his wealth the moment he got his hands on his inheritance. He used to hold that over my head, "You better do X, Y, Z or or you'll get no inheritance from me!"
He ran through it all, so one day I asked "What inheritance? You're broke."

Gamestop can buy back despite the MNPII as long as they follow safe harbor rules. I.e., via a 10b5-1 plan operating under the following conditions:
- The buyback instructions were given during an "Open Window": The plan must have been adopted at a time when the Board/management did not possess MNPI (e.g., early Q2).
- Pre-set/programmatic instructions: The plan gives an independent broker clear, automated instructions (e.g., "Buy $X amount of stock every Tuesday if the price is below$Y").
- No management control: Once the buyback instructions have been given, management cannot alter, influence, or exert discretion over the execution while in possession of MNPI.
If a 10b5-1 plan was filed/authorized prior to management gaining knowledge of the finalized Q2 numbers, the automated execution can legally occur during Q3, even right before earnings are published.

Guter Einwand.

Having a kid made me realise I was precarious.
A reddit comment, which I called stupid at the time, said putting away X every month for Y number of years would equal Z amount. They put me in my place and I learnt about the real meaning of compound interest that day, embarrassingly late. Then I saw I could make significant savings.

Hi everyone,
I've spent the last few days restructuring my mother's mutual fund portfolio.
Her profile:
Age: 50
Investment Horizon: 10–15 years
Risk Appetite: Moderate to Moderately High
Goal: Long-term wealth creation with lower overlap and better diversification.
Expected CAGR: Around 10–12% (anything higher would be a bonus).
Core Index:
1) Kotak Nifty 50 Index Fund
2) ICICI Prudential Nifty 50 Index Fund (SIP)
3) Kotak Nifty Next 50 Index Fund (SIP)
Active Equity:
1) Nippon India Large Cap Fund
2) Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund
3) HDFC Multi Cap Fund
4) HSBC Multi Cap Fund
5) HSBC Value Fund
6) Edelweiss Mid Cap Fund (using proceeds from Quant redemption)
7) Axis Small Cap Fund
Diversifier:
1) ICICI Prudential Multi Asset Allocation Fund
Active Strategy:
1) SBI Contra Fund (still deciding whether to keep or exit)
Tax Saving:
1) Parag Parikh ELSS
2) SBI ELSS (will merge after lock-in)
3) Quant ELSS (will merge after lock-in)
Changes already made:
1) Sold Quant Infrastructure
2) Sold Nippon India Power & Infrastructure
3) Sold Quant Flexi Cap
4) Sold Quant Mid Cap
5) Switched ICICI Bharat 22 FoF → ICICI Prudential Multi Asset
Allocation Fund:
1) Switched Kotak Multi Cap → Kotak Nifty 50 / Kotak Nifty Next 50
Remaining:
1) Invest Quant redemption into Edelweiss Mid Cap.
2) Merge Kotak Nifty 50 Equal Weight into Kotak Nifty 50 Index.
3) Deciding whether to keep or exit SBI Contra.
4) Keeping HSBC Multi Cap for now because of the exit load.
Funds that will be added:
1) One International Market Fund.
2) Adding Corporate Fund.
3) Adding Gold Fund.
Questions:
1) Is there any unnecessary overlap that I haven't noticed?
2) Would you keep or exit SBI Contra considering HSBC Value is already in the portfolio?
3) Would you keep HSBC Multi Cap after the exit-load period or eventually switch it?
4) Is there any fund in this portfolio that you would definitely replace?
Overall, how would you rate this portfolio for a 50-year-old investor targeting 10–12% long-term CAGR?
I'm looking for constructive criticism rather than return chasing. Thanks!
Note: Please provide reasoning for any recommendation. One-line comments like "buy X fund" or "sell Y fund" without explaining why won't be very helpful.
