This is not a sales post. I am asking opinions on resale value & seeing if there are people who collect these.
I am helping a friend with their stack and they have multiple of these Cook Islands / Niue artistic Aurum notes.
They are similar to Goldbacks in that they contain actual gold. These $2 notes contain 1/200 oz of .999 gold.
Pictures attached. There are multiples available of several designs, including:
• 2025 Niue $2 – Believe in Him: Living Water
• 2022 Cook Islands $2 – Threads of Light: Connection
• 2022 Cook Islands $2 – Threads of Light: Exploration
• 2022 Cook Islands $2 – Threads of Light: Remembrance
• 2022 Cook Islands $2 – Threads of Light: Revolution
• 2022 Cook Islands $2 – Threads of Light: Endurance
All notes are graded PMG 70 (Seventy Gem Unc).
I am not very familiar with this series, but they seem to command a substantial premium relative to Goldbacks with similar gold content. Looking at sold comps on Feebay, PMG 70 examples of this series appear to sell in the $100–$150+ range.
I understand Feebay also takes roughly 13% in fees, and Feebay pricing does not always translate directly to Reddit pricing. Those are simply the only comps I have to work from right now.
What would you consider fair Reddit market value for these? What would you realistically expect to pay as a buyer?
Before putting together a WTS post, I wanted to gauge interest from the community.
Would there be interest in these if I listed them for sale on pmsforsale
If there is enough interest, I will make a WTS post and would be willing to offer them below comps.
