I had MS years ago because they were my workplace default option for depositing stock options once vested. I can’t say they were bad but they aren’t exactly known as a low cost DIY brokerage. I know some active traders who use them but i don’t know any hardcore Bogleheads that would choose them over a VG, Fidelity or Schwab. At the core they are a large Wall Street investment bank so i personally view them as not a great match for DIY investing. YMMV.

VG used historical scenarios. I can't recall what they were -- this was over 20 years ago.

I sent the Rep my DIY plan and asked if they could compare to what they would offer and tell me why I should pick the PAS over self-directed. They stated that they could not do that because they couldn't verify 3rd party information and if it didnt come from them they just couldn't review it. I figured they would do that but gave it a shot anyway. Funny thing it was VG funds in my plan lol.

This country is an absolute shithole. Any govt official can harass you for anything. It's so scary how much influence these guys have. How many people committed suicide due to harassment by govt officials VG Siddhartha, CJ Roy etc. We elect our representatives to be our voice but these people are just empowering the organized mafia of govt officials. This is really sad
