Extensive nuclear power is still a bit out in the future. Communities have to be convinced that it's safe and it takes a few years to build out. The Energy sector (oil & gas) isn't doing well this year on the American exchanges because OPEC has flooded the market, unrest in the Mideast and the current administration keeping prices the lowest in five years. At -4%, it has the 2nd worst one year sector returns, But it's been climbing since the April 8th drop.
But there is definitely a need for energy in all forms and for electricity generation in one form or another. I would look at **FENY** (oil & gas, low expense ratio, good returns, +1% YTD). **GRID** (+17%) and **IFRA** (+9%) focus on building out the power grid and its infrastructure.
Others to look at are XLE, RNRG, VOLT, EMLP, GII, RBLD, EMLP, MPLX and ECLN. None have nuclear as a primary focus.
