I highly doubt $500 Rolexes are service at an AD and the watchmaker can’t tell. This is what they do for a living.
Mind you, this is purely speculation and I don’t own a Rolex, but am well aware that fakes have gotten increasingly good, even laser etching the crown into the bottom, adding the necessary jewels etc. I just don’t see how a rep would be able to maintain the craftsmanship of the OG, especially for $500. I know some reps are $1.5k+; maybe those would be a little more believable, but even then I have my doubts.
