Several months ago i received an email from morningstar that they have updated their screener. Morningstar screens are great if you don't want to think and just want to see which stocks are highly rated, or what is fair value or what is the Price to Fair value ratio. However, I still missed their advanced screener where i could enter comparisons and use boolean operators to make queries that work like "show me the stocks where the earnings are greater each year for the last five years".
Well this new fangled stock screener can't do all the fancy stuff, but they have more financial metrics that one can choose from.
Below is the Query, the results and a download version in google sheets in my usual morningstar landing page format.
*(Do note, i screen for quality first then i look for value. If there is none, then i would rather wait. )*
# The Query:
Show me the stocks where

(1) It is **Dominciled** in the USA and
(2) **EPS**
a. EPS grew by at least 7% in the trailing twelve months
b. EPS grew by at least 7% in the last Fiscal year
c. EPS grew by at least 7% CAGR in the last three Fiscal years
d. EPS grew by at least 7% CAGR in the last five Fiscal years
e. EPS grew by at least 7% CAGR in the last ten Fiscal years
(3) **Revenue**

b. Revenue grew by at least 5% CAGR in the last three Fiscal years
c. Revenue grew by at least 5% CAGR in the last five Fiscal years

b. Dividend grew by at least 1% CAGR in the last three Fiscal years

So I think it’s important to disambiguate something - futures prices are NOT a simple ‘prediction’ of where the spot price will be at a point in the future, and the NYT journalist did not explain that well.
Under normal circumstances the futures curve is governed by cost of carry (and reverse cost of carry) arbitrage.
In times of crisis, the two things become dislocated simply because *nobody is willing to act to arbitrage it* - that is, players place such a premium on owning and buying the commodity immediately that they refuse to arbitrage the market gaps.
The lower futures price is not so much a prediction that things will return to normal in future, just a reflection that the energy markets are so stressed that nobody is going act to close the gap.
I think what the quoted analyst is trying to say is that this gap is much BIGGER than they were expecting, and the size of this dislocation is proportional to fear - when offered enough profit, somebody should take the bet, but they’re not.

Welcome to the 5th season of The Golden Pinecone.
This season will include new ways to win cones, milestone games and back to back multipliers which will be discussed below and are marked “New For Season Five”. We hope these new rules make gaining more cones easier for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who plays and remember. “Power to the Players” - tallfeel
The Rules are simple: =================================================
-To Win: Guess the closest to the closing daily price for GME. (the final settled price, not including After-hours trading) Guess must be in by 10:30am EST (NYT). (One hour after the opening bell)
-An exact guess AKA the Bullseye Crew you get 3 (New for Season Five) cones for the season total standings. The count for the Bullseye Crew is just the exact number of Bullseyes this season per player.
-In the result of a tie, both win a cone as both were correct.
New for Season Five -If your guess was closest on back to back games the number of cones you win is multiplied. So for B2B wins your cones on the second day are doubled for that game, the fabled B2B2B win will see your cones tripled for that game (and so on).
-No Edits: your guess is your guess, and once it is in, it cannot be changed. Early bird gets the guess. (if you edit your guess, you are disqualified for that day, sorry). If you notice your guess has already been taken, do not edit your guess but comment underneath it. At that point you can make a new guess but it still has to be in by 10:30 EST (One hour after the opening bell)
-B2B Sniping Rule: Last guess of the day cannot win on back to back days. All guesses must be in USD amounts including cents.
New for Season Five - Milestone Games. On games 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 the cones up for grabs are tripled. Eg 9 cones for a bullseye! This rule also stacks with the new B2B multiplier rule.
-The seasonal standings are below the closing score and yesterday's winner. The winners circle is the hall of fame of past season winners. This is for the player with the most total wins per season. There are 250 games per season we play every day the market is trading.
WINNERS CIRCLE
Season 1 Winner: Lorien6 ( 31 Wins )

The market is optimistic about a deal with Iran being struck. There was a NYT report indicating Iran apparently offered a 5 year moratorium on uranium enrichment while the US wants 20 years so there seems to be the possibility of a deal to end to the war. Also, the AI data center trade is driving a lot of the positive momentum in tech. There have been a couple of significant AI data center deals in the past week involving the likes of Oracle, Meta, Anthropic, Coreweave and NBIS which are driving the AI trade.

Seriously re-consider owning property - opportunity cost is real. There are many resources to help with your decision - the NYT "Rent vs Buy" calculator is one such tool. There is more than cold numbers in the decision to own a house, but you should understand the numbers as well as the emotional/non-rational side of it.

The Rules are simple: =================================================

NYT has an old school gateway. Ctrl + A and copy when the page first loads will select all the text. You can then drop it into notepad.
