I'm stopping at these three myself (very difficult but I just cannot justify it). The first two graded SP70 and this last one is headed to NGC tomorrow.
The gold quality has been excellent & I think 96-98% will grade SP70 if inspected carefully. The silver medals have seen a few more SP69s.
They're gorgeous collectibles, but I don't see the premiums holding long-term. The US Mint already captured most of the premium, and paying $3,500+ for a graded set is **crazy**, in my opinion. The 2016 releases had higher mintages however the premiums came from Gold rising, & can be had for under \~20% over spot if that ... Not worth paying an exorbitant pemium imo; ymmv.
I think the real money will come from higher gold prices, not premium appreciation. The mintages are relatively high, they're still available from the Mint, and the secondary market has cooled on the Best of the Mint series.
For me, the real coin to watch is the 1 oz Saint-Gaudens Best of the Mint (15k max mintage currently I blv). Everything else has felt overpriced, lack of execution ... from the Liberty Bell release to forcing collectors into expensive medal sets and the usual dealer Advance Release games.
The Mint just isn't as much fun anymore... and I have a feeling **Privy Mania** is next on the agenda & more insane premiums ... Not buying it.

This is a piece hand selected by me and submitted to NGC. Slab is pristine as is the coin IMHO, however the "professionals" found after 22 years and being owned by multiple parties that it has "non-detracting flaws or contact marks that are visible only under magnification".
If you look above the "1" in "1/4" you will see a tiny mark only viewable at the right angle, which I tried to capture in the photos. This is pretty close to perfect and better than most of the "raw" coins I have considered sending off to grade. If you plan to "crack it" then I have the capsule available so it will match your raw set.
# Trade
**I want to trade for any Series 2 Slabbed 1/4 Lunar** that I do not already have. Will work with you on premiums if you have a 70, or colorized version. No Proof coin, just the BU.
