In theory, a Coldcard could check for an observable collision without exposing the seed or private keys. After generating the seed offline, it could derive and export its public addresses or XPUB to an internet-connected wallet via USB, MicroSD, NFC or QR. That wallet could then scan the Bitcoin blockchain and warn if any of those addresses already had transaction history. It wouldn’t detect a collision where the other holder had never used the address, since unused private keys aren’t publicly registered anywhere, but it could detect one that had already left an on-chain trace.

Now most people have phones that operate as customisable NFC payment cards, it should be possible for a mobile crypto wallet to link with Google Pay and Apple Pay so we can tap to pay using our crypto, with it being converted to fiat on the fly by Google/Apple for a much lower fee than Visa/MasterCard charge.

Samsung also has Modes and Routine. I currently have a routine where if Google Wallet is open, NFC will be automatically turned on then once i close the app, NFC will be automatically turned off.

This is good na meron na hindi na need to dig sa settings. Plus points sa Samsung. Hopefully one day pwede mag assign ng physical button. Mejo praning ako sa wireless since may mga tools like Flipper Zero na kaya mag track ng RF ID and NFC signals.

On OneUI, you can add an NFC toggle on Quicksetting so its will be like opening your flashlight lang when you need. Okay din na hindi palaging naka-on since hindi may way para makapag-pay using NFC nang hindi inuunlock yung phone (Express Pay mode).

Use RF blockers or turn off your NFC when not used.

For me, it's safer than your card since a different card number is given to the merchant for payments. For safety lang encrypt your device and app with biometrics. Di naman magagamit ang NFC kung nakalock ang phone
