Yes you're right but I had to make concessions, my laptop is genuinely bad :( 416 bots on 7 stages on 6 months data woth 5mins bars is too much for the poor thing :(
For the next run if this one's results are useful to anyone, I'll use GCP credits to run it on a VM with a few years of data per strategy!
The intent was like a first filter not a final verdict by any means.

Permissioned does not mean “totally centralized.” It means participation at that particular layer is gated. Those are not remotely the same definition.
ICP node providers are identity verified and admitted through onchain NNS governance, yes. Once admitted, the nodes are independently operated physical machines deliberately distributed across different providers, data centers and jurisdictions. Each subnet runs replicated consensus, and no individual node can unilaterally alter the state of the applications running on it.
You can absolutely argue that Ethereum’s permissionless node entry is preferable. That’s a legitimate architectural difference.
But calling ICP “totally centralized” because node provider admission is permissioned is like saying any system with membership requirements must therefore have one central controller. It simply doesn’t follow.
And it still doesn’t address the original point: you claimed centralized cloud dependence was the case for every public blockchain. ICP deliberately avoids that architecture by using dedicated independently operated hardware rather than AWS/Azure/GCP.
Permissionless participation and infrastructure decentralization are different properties. You don’t get to define the first one as the entirety of decentralization and then declare every other model centralized.

Yet it also helps aws as they have it too
Fwiw it’s costing GCP their OpenAI business, they’re moving customers off

Google is playing a different game. It's AI is mainly to protect search revenues - a 200 billion dollar a year business - if it so happens to help with GCP or other business units that's just a bonus for them.
I think because of this they aren't nearly as aggressive as anthropic or open ai because they are the primary consumer of what they're developing so there's less pressure to push marketing narratives.
Gemini is genuinely good at certain tasks and I find it complimentary to Claude for doing basic research on a topic before going into planning mode with opus
