This method frees up 220+ GB of space in 2026.
Thanks!

I am using 32 GB no need to use more, also if you have more than 4 external TOS windows you should use a second instance of TOS and off load a second layout. That should give you better performance. I run 10 screens with 2 instances sometimes 3.

I'm sure that they're just the default settings. The system has 128 GB as I used to do other things with this system. It runs fine on another system I have with just 32 GB.

I'm not seeing any issues. I'm running ToS on an i7-10700 with 128 GB of RAM (Windows 11) and an M1 Max Studio (Sequoia).

> and they advised me the only way to obtain the French IBAN is full closure of my GB account and starting fresh,
Correct. One one account per personnand must be resident of the country. So by moving out of the UK you had to close the account.
> however the app will not let me create a new account - keep getting errors leading to dead ends.
Uh... I'll go through an open door but that's normal (and may not even be related to the old account)

And it’s likely that OP is going to be wrong too. iPhone 18 might very well come with 12 GB of RAM to facilitate some of the more advanced Siri AI features that their Pro line models can already use.

Capex cut is the main concern, not only for memory but for the whole chip sector. But if such a massive blow is dealt, I think advanced memory, especially the big three HBM companies, is actually safer than other hardware. Even if companies stop buying more servers, the physical amount of memory needed inside each new chip is always increasing at a very high rate. For example, Nvidia's older chips used 80 GB of memory, but their new Blackwell chips need nearly 300 GB each. Also, it would be pretty foolish for the big tech companies to cut their capex because they are essentially trapped. If they stop building infrastructure, they will lose the AI race to their rivals. On top of that, memory is bought through long-term contracts with high upfront down payments, and many do argue that these are already priced in, but it's not like that demand is instantly gone should capex cuts happen—they are stuck in a contract. More importantly, though, memory is and will still be the bottleneck hindering the companies' progress. I think most of these talking points are things we need to worry about way into the future. For now, we know that memory is sold out through 2027, and there is still a lot of AI buildup and progress to be made. I'm not sure if a capex cut and dump could happen as soon as six months from now, but we will have to see. One year is a long time, though and things could change pretty fast. We really don't know what will happen—just need to react fast when it is about to happen. I think there will be signs. Frankly speaking, I will probably bail out well before it happens, but I think right now, it is way earlier than that.

I have accounts at Fidelity and Schwab. I have been a Fidelity customer for 30+ years. Have the credit card and all sorts of personal and work accounts. Historically, the service is very good. I started trading near daily about 12 months ago and see a big difference now. I don't feel that Fidelity is optimized for daytraders or heavy traders. Seems like the target customer is someone that checks their portfolio a few times per year. It started with phantom day trade calls in my IRA accounts that stopped me from trading. I would call them and it would get fixed not the same day, but 2-3 days later.

Then there's the platforms:
1. Active Trader Pro is terribly slow and freezes and crashes daily while in the middle of trades (I trade options primarily and execute 10-50 trades daily).
2. Active Trader+ has better UX and there are areas that are faster like loading the options chain, but I frequently have the app freeze in the middle of trades. Unless I am missing something, creating multi-leg orders is super painful whereas in Active Trader Pro, you just click on the strikes you want on the order.
3. No algorithmic trading or API. It's 2026 and most large brokers have tools in place to automate trades, so we don't have to watch the screen all day.

I have a Windows 11 laptop with 16 GB RAM and tons of free hard drive space. It's to the point where I need Thinkorswim running on another monitor for charting, watchlists, stock/options scanners, news, market depth etc. and just use Fidelity to place the trade. Zero performance issues with Thinkorswim.

u/Fidelity \- please engage your Active Traders to help improve your retail trading platforms. Fix your platforms and you will save customers from looking at brokers.
