i totally see where u’r coming from – SPMO already holds a ton of the same big tech names as QNDX and FTEC. If you’re looking to trim overlap, killer combo is SPYM + SPMO + AVUV for core, then maybe add one factor orbit like FMTM or XMMO if the extra tilt feels worth it. keep it simple and you’ll reduce trading noise and expense ratios too.

SPMO and FTEC

FTEC is OK but they miss the forest for the trees on what they include or exclude based on "paper" definitions of "tech".
Google is a major player in the AI space, but not in FTEC simply because things like YouTube were too successful and changed their "paper" classification. If Google wins the AI war FTEC won't capture that arc.

FTEC is ma go-to

Better choice than VOO? Maybe SPYM, FXAIX, FNILX, ETLGX (/s, mostly). 
If you're truly very ok with risk, FTEC seems pretty well managed right now.
