My Mom is 76 and not in the greatest health and has a fairly serious surgery coming up next month. She had a "friend" who was a financial advisor (I guess) doing this for her previously, but it has sat idle for a long time. She has ~$64K across several accounts in Schwab with auto distributions going into her checking account. She has $142,000 in her Chase checking and we're working on getting it into a HYSA.
The plan is to add ~ 100 to 120k of her cash into Schwab and run a 30/70 stocks to bonds split. I assume I would leave the brokerage accounts mostly as is, sell the high ER shares, and buy VTI/VXUS in appropriate ratios?
Besides keeping the BND and selling the high ER shares, any suggestions on what do I do here?

I use Vanguard so I'm not familiar with Schwab or their products, but my plan for the bond portion so far are these ratios in the tax advantaged accounts:
* SCHO - 35%
* SCHP - 30%
* SCHZ - 20% (keep existing BND)
* SCHR - 15%
With the additional 100 to 120K added is she forced to carry the additional bonds in one of her brokerage accounts?
