For my income generation I have a mix of large positions in SCHD, O, JEPQ, JEPI, BBHY, VCIT, MLPI, NLY, PFFA with smaller positions in RSPA, WTPI, DIVO, IDVO, VYMI, MAIN, ARCC, DVYE, HCOW, PDO, PDI and PTY, plus many high yielding individual stocks. I know, probably way too many.
Remember, generally higher yield correlates to lower growth.
By having more dividend income than I presently require, a lot is getting reinvested into SCHD for the greater growth potential. It is also one of the few that I own in my brokerage account due to the qualified dividends it generates.

Determine how much income you want to generate and build from there. If using a brokerage account, use funds that generate qualified dividends. If you have funds left over, diversify beyond income funds for greater growth.
