Been studying this for a while — same ORB breakout pattern on Nifty 5-min, same textbook shape, but wildly different outcomes depending on what Daily/1H were doing underneath.
Pulled an old example: 5-min ORB breakout worked cleanly because 1H and 1D were both already bullish across SuperTrend, RSI, and UT Bot. Same session, later candle — background flips neutral, no HTF agreement, and sure enough that one just chopped and failed.
So the bog green triangle was ORB breakout for the day after sweeping liquidity and at that time both 1H and 1D were bullish as also at lower frame the RSI was blasting above 60 with ADX > 21, RS>0 Compared to CNX 500 Benchmark and Di+leading at 12:25pm on 5 min chart, and the trade paid of well. The current status on chart is of last candle- day closing, the red box clearly warning no trade pattern with ADX< 21 and Di - leading
Not claiming any holy grail here, just find it interesting how much a "confirmed" breakout depends on a timeframe most people never even open. Anyone else map HTF before taking lower-timeframe entries, or is that overkill for you?
