SCHD mostly holds MATURE companies their div growth decelerate over time slowly. MCD (think it was +3%), MSFT (was 10% now it's 7-9% so not as bad), PEP wasn't much either.
But it's missing the small/midcap heavy div growth stocks like CHE (+15%-20%), MLI (+10% (normally more)), VLTO (+10%), BR - could be wrong on this one (+10%).
A lot of it's holdings are also VERY consumer reliant as the consumer weakens so does earnings and net income
