CBM is a comic book movie. It's Superman, Avengers, The Fantastic Four etc. TDWP2 is The Devil Wears Prada 2.

It's nice that a movie targeted to adults\* that isn't CBM franchise is doing well but it's been a disappointing summer for the box office. Several movies underperformed including Disclosure Day. TDWP2, Obsession and Backrooms overperformed but they were released prior to summer.
The movie industry can't rely on a couple blockbuster movies every summer to maintain their business. Studio executives should have been looking for new talent years ago but instead it's still mostly reboots, sequels and tired stale superhero movies. Notice how it wasn't one of the major studios that took a risk on Barker or Parsons. Instead they gave Ridley Scott over 300M for one movie when he hasn't had a profitable movie in years. OBAA lost around 100M.
Also Hollywood is a tiny village with only about 50 actors looking for work so it's the same actors in most high profile movies. Maybe it's time to cultivate new talent.

Pattinson - The Drama, The Odyssey, Dune 3
Chalamet - almost every high profile Oscar bait movie
Pascal - they keep trying to turn him into a major box office draw but there is no evidence of that
