I'm willing to die on this hill. I won't be satisfied till every young investor understands and values unrealized gains as much as income. I also love the "dividend" argument as it pertains to CC strategy ETFs and this sub, considering they're not dividends at all.
Like you, I can *slightly* get behind *some* CC strategy ETFs, if used in moderation and for the right reason. The short list is DIVO, GPIX, BALI, IDVO. But even then, we'll need to see a bear market and recession before the jury is out. Some older CC strategy funds have done very poorly (BXMX for example) which has underperformed by a whopping 4% per year without lowering volatility, and -56.71% in NAV erosion.
