In my IRA, I only include funds that are passive or quantitative (Avantis). In other accounts, it is more of a mix. A few active funds I like are:
* Oakmark Fund (large-cap value)
* BNY Mellon Dynamic Value (large-cap value), now available in ETF form (BKDV)
* Fidelity Growth Discovery (large-cap growth)
* Baron Opportunity (large-cap growth)
* PGIM Jennison International Opportunities (foreign large growth)
The first four are classified as large-cap, but reach into mid-cap a bit.
