Was more refering to the BC hill folk. You're way more trashy than you think you are tho. Like jarringly trashy. This is coming from someone who's spent a lot of time in washington and oregon, the trashiest of US trashbag states. I'd rank BC as the 4th most trashbag state. But ya, sure, its not cost effective to traffic fentanal there.

Got a couple kids still launching from the nest and while the surf there looks great, albeit crowded, I am a whitewater kayaking fiend. Need to be in the mountains and close enough to strike Cali/BC/CO/ID et al.
Have not heard of Act 60, though. Will look into it. Maybe I save enough via no taxes to fly back to my place in MT for the good paddling season (April-Sept) but live better half of the year there? That’s really interesting. Thank you!

Theyre not relying on government credits at all!
Not sure if you know their business model well but they have feedstock partners who they get cheap feedstock from. They turn that woody biomass into biocarbon and RNG. They sell that biocarbon at market rates ($1000 to $1500 per tonne) and RNG at market rates which is very very profitable ($40 dollars per GJ), the RNG is profitable because Quebec and BC govts have a mandate to inject RNG into their pipelines so Quebec and BC gas companies pay a premium for the RNG compared to other provinces.
If a conservative govt does step in, the demand for biocarbon and RNG will still be there. The companies who have so far signed an agreement for buying biocarbon from CHAR Tech are ArcelorMittal (2nd largest steel company in the world) and Elkem (multi billion dollar silicone manufacturing company), those companies still have long term decarbonization plans with or without the support of the canadian govt. Europe has extremely strong green mandates and are only getting tighter, and same with current canada. Customers in Europe have shown lots of interest to buy CHAR Techs biocarbon.
There is a huge surplus of demand for both biocarbon and RNG which isnt going away anytime soon regardless of the type of canadian govt. Lemme know if that helps!

I think people are worried about the rate of decline in internet subscribers being more than expected and not sufficiently offset by mobile customer growth. Personally, I think these numbers are not super relevant in the short term.

I'm down about 26%, and as much as it's disheartening I'm holding at least until after their merger with Cox Communications completes, which is expected for August pending regulatory approvals.
So far, they have passed all required approvals except for one: they are awaiting regulatory approval in California. There is a vote scheduled by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) schedule for August 13th ([source](https://communicationsdaily.com/article/2026/07/13/cpuc-to-vote-on-chartercox-merger-at-aug-13-meeting-2607100047?BC=bc_6a517313692de)), and it is broadly expected to pass. As far as I understand, following this approval they can complete the merger in a matter of a few business days to a few weeks, so by late August it should be done.
This merger stands to increase EBITDA by \~25%, decrease their overall debt ratio, increase their cash flow, and broaden the reach they have with an expanded subscriber base.

Sure, thats easy.
CHAR Tech has been 15 years in the making (R&D and pilot phase), they are on the verge of starting commercial production for biocarbon (phase 1) after which phase 2 will be doubling the biocarbon and making Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) as well. This is just at their Thorold site, they have 3 other sites under development and construction.
Biocarbon is highly in demand as its carbon neutral (so much in demand that they already have buyers lined up with offtake agreements - ArcelorMittal (2nd largest steel company in the world) and Elkem , a multi billion dollar silicone manufacturing company) they've already signed 2 multi year offtake agreements for the biocarbon.
Point 2 - RNG is highly in demand especially by Quebec and BC as they have provincial mandates to inject RNG into their gas pipelines. Most likely CHAR will sign a 20 year offtake agreement to sell RNG to a gas company from one of those province.
Oh, additionally, they use their same HTP technology to permanently destroy pfas (commercial level pilot in Baltimore). Partnered up with the City of Baltimore and Synagro (Synagro Is wholly owned by Goldman Sachs). There is massive potential to replicate this at other Synagro sites across North America.
Demand is there, partnerships are there and sealed, buyers are there, they've locked in their feedstock suppliers. Oh, the canadian government has put in $20 million in grant funding, so the govt is backing them up too since this lines up with Canada's net zero goals.
Once commercial production starts, the company will be going through a major re rating, stock is wildly mispriced as its only being valued as a pilot right now.

We didnt get into the specifics of costs for the feedstock and cost to pelletize, however they have secured low/cheap and sufficient feedstock for their sites. What i do know is that there is sufficient demand from customers (ArcelorMittal, Elkem, and others for biocarbon and of course the BC and Quebec provinces mandate RNG to be injected into their pipeline) , char has secured biocarbon offtake agreements at market pricing ($1000 to $1500 per tonne of biocarbon).
There is definitely a profit to be made, I dont think the management team would be pursuing this otherwise!
