Personally I am now completely out of market now tbh. I think this AI bubble won't end well for equities, maybe I am slightly earlier, but after all these years performance I rather keep safe 6.75-7%/year in short term bonds(3y average expiration). Completely in active managed high yield bonds BB etf. It tracks merryl lynch, and I saw charts during dot-com it did not go down but up. Worst year was 2008 which took only 2 years to recover... After 🥭 "golden age" always come the hangover. I see signals of chinese record earnings, record surplus, they are planning mass producing memory in 2027 with propiertary tech 6x performance...(Nanya technologies...)

That’s a great news for BB/QNX! Even though we’re among 80 others in such a big crowd.

"but BB/QNX’ value had been pressed down so badly by hedge funds" Agreed. Irrespective of news like ARM Echo system?

Nice website. A must read for BB longs, shorts, and those wondering why BB still exists.
Our long future is dazzling!
What do u guys think of the website?

The more I think about it. The more I think mainstream adoption of qnx won't happen outside legacy auto makers. I see the new age of robotics system lean towards open-source with linux rtos. If you look towards china and their recent robotics Olympics. Unitree builds their robots stack on top of Linux.
I do foresee niche usage of qnx in highly restrictive usecase where the certifications absolutely matter.
In terms of stock price. I absolutely think BB as a whole is undervalued.

I would pick FAANG SWE over BB Quant. It's easier to recruit into top quant funds from FAANG over BB from what I've seen and heard.

I think you're confusing my stating that this specific analysis is garbage, with stating that BB is garbage. I'm long, and like what they're doing, and not going anywhere.
My complaint is that "analyses" such as this is worse than useless. It actively misleads people and gets hopes up. More than most, I think BB has seem that boom-bust in their share price (aka rug pull). People might say it algos, or Prem Watsa, or dark pool shorts or whatever, but a contributing factor is likely people hearing stuff like that, jumping in, seeing some gains, which brings in others, until it gets over heated, and BB takes too long to produce meaningful results, and then ppl bailing.
Essentially this is the other side of the people who keep on bringing up share sales due to tax reasons, suggesting the bad optics of the missed alloy kore announcement means it fell apart vs some dumb delay, and proselytize ppl into thinking BB is going to 0.
Both are trying to mislead using half truths and cherry picked assumptions to fuel a narrative.
I'm eagerly awaiting a medium term forecast from BB, as they have not released one in a couple years, and much has changed since then.
I don't understand why people can't separate what they would like to be true and dreaming for, with a well backed, well supported argument. 3-5x is a great sound bite, but on what base, and on how many cars? Without that, it's a meaningless statement.
The only thing BB has said which we can take to the bank is 5-25% growth. How they get there, how much individual components change, how much is back log, all those are details.

consider you might be overindexing on recent history. there have been a lot of BB layoffs before when tech was booming.

I agree that the $925 price point isn't going to ever happen, but you have to listen to all of the comments BB have made and not just cherry pick the ones you want for you argument.
BB clearly said that you will first see the revenue from Alloy Core in the backlog, due to the delay between contract and production.
But you also have to factor in that a much higher percentage of cars in production will be SDVs. So if volume increases by multiples and price increases by multiples you have a very good story for how revenues will increase significantly.
Nobody believes we will get a 10,000% increase in revenues in the short term, but you can see a path to x10 in revenues over the next 5+ years.

I would take faang swe if that's Google. I used to work at Google and now I work in buy-side quant but Google is really a one of a kind employer that values ur WLB and has decent comp for its culture. Idk if ur offer was Apple or Google, but if I had a Google offer vs BB Quant offer I would 100% take Google. If it's Apple hard to make a decision here

Yup. You're right. We're going to go from an average selling price of $8 per unit (based on current revenue numbers, and numbers of cars released by BB) up over 100x to $925.
BB themselves have cited 5-25% growth for the year, but never mind that. Some guy on reddit says it's actually 10,000%.
I'm not sure how these pie in the sky speculations are useful.
I believe they said 3-5X average selling price. Which in some cases is as low as a few dollars. Given that they never shared the base, it's by and large a meaningless statement. Why would you base the 3-5x number on a company that is at best only remotely related to what we do?
How does "A portion of our selling prices will go up by 3-5x, and our total revenues will increase 5-25%" materially differ from "Our total revenues will increase 5-25%"

IMO:
Quant at BB quickly transition to buy side or prop >> FAANG > Remain at BB
If you have that dog in you and want to grind and make the transition and love the idea of playing a board game w hidden information ( effectively ) against other brilliant people for a living, then take quant BB and work hard and pivot.
