Compare it to VGK, FEZ, or a AVDE/AVDV combo.
The problem with VXUS is it's too diversified, much like VT. Also, if you're going to have any positions which are actively managed, it's international. Worldwide index funds tend to own a lot of junk because they're forced to, not because it's a good idea.

I know you asked for just one but: VOO and AVUV for US. AVDE and AVEM for international. Or simplify international with AVNV if you don't want to control the ratio of developed:emerging. Sprinkle a little QQQM or SPMO for growth.

I’d personally replace VXUS / EEM with Avantis or Dimensional funds. International (especially EM) is one area active still shines, especially the Dimensional people (and they’re really more rules based than “active”.). A bit of a value tilt wouldn’t hurt either.
VXUS = AVDE or DFIC
EEM = AVES or DFEV

FEZ is another. Personally, I prefer a AVDE/AVDV combination of FEZ for my international HOLDINGS. But many people are afraid of moderate maintenance fees, so I suggest VGK as a lower-fee option (that doesn't do as well as options with higher fees).
