1) firstly you need to understand LTCG will be triggered someday or the other. you cannot leave the money in the fund life long and not use it.
2) second, by using 1.25lakh LTCG exemption and LTCL offset to LTCG - try to move the funds from regular to direct
3) your earning in regular also wiil be slightly lower due to expense ratio.
4) just go to AMC website, start SWP in such a way that your total tax impact is minimal for FY or CY (from next yr onwards)

Converting to direct from regular, triggers Capital Gains Tax.
It's considered as selling units and rebuying them.
Even though it's the exact same fund &:same AMC.

my story is such a long one

but I was still mostly working in tech, while slowly resenting what it became
I love building systems of all kind and the tech industry has shifted away from builders so eventually I retired after twenty ish years
I've experienced tragedies along the way, one recently in April 2024 that caused major grief which actually I think helped me become a much better trader in the end
so it's been a wild ride but I can't say I love trading

My MF Distributor Agent is a pretty rude & arrogant guy. Never helped me and never does any work.
All KYC and other administrative stuff has been done by me, with CAMS, Kinfintech, Mutual Funds Central, CDSL, DP, respective AMC houses etc.
Besides taking his yearly trailing commission this ARN has never done anything for me.
He had made a mess of everything - put wrong email address, old outdated banking information, old phone number etc everywhere. Folio number confusion. Wrong address etc. Mistake in Nominee.
Also done IDCW payout instead of reinvestment. Payout instead of Growth etc.
Took me ages to clean up all this mess. Never helped me, did not take my calls, hung up on me etc.
I know ideally I should have bought DIRECT funds to begin with and not REGULAR funds through him.
But now I just want to remove his name & ARN from all my funds, so that he doesn't keep on earning future trailing commission from me.
Can I do that without converting Regular to Growth? As I don't want to trigger Capital Gains Tax for doing that.
