Amazon is a very low margin business and now even cutting their most profitable engine, AWS. I can't imagine they are going to acquire a company that is and will be losing money. I don't see how they can turn AMC profitable long run.

I have more shares here than any other stock. This is also the first stock I bought options for. From $0.50 to $2. From this May to January 2025. (March ones expired worthless)
After GME and AMC moon I'll probably buy the whole damn float.

What happened in January 2020 that would have made you think AMC was a good deal or even a squeeze candidate. Was it that they were giving dividends?

I felt the same as you,, and even questioned some of AA moves. But I believe the float has been oversold 100x over worldwide and they(shf) can't absorb that loss when the existing cusip# for AMC and ape get deleted with the RS!! So I don't think it will be allowed to or it will moass b4 the RS!
So basically have to have faith in this chess move?? Kinda like sacrificial move to set up the opponent for check mate!
Honestly it wouldn't matter what the board does,, the shf algos and dark pool routing of all buy orders guaranteed they can and will run it down if they want too! I don't care what the price is,, when it crosses $10,000 it's game on!

The whole Amazon thing is a ploy for perspective news:
They can say Amazon backs out because AMC is *insert negative sentiment here*, making people feel that if a company with that power nd knowledge doesn't want it, why should they buy it or hold onto it?
1) They simply lie through calling the news a 'rumor' or 'opinion'.
2) 3rd party actions and statements hit more hard to people and make more of an impact. I.E. "You're stupid!" is far less offensive then "*Person* says you are stupid". It shows that things are going on that don't include you, so your suspicious thoughts around them are calmed. You are more in a state where you feel truth is being told, and if there's a group involved, you may succumb to group mentality and do something foolish like sell.
Good thing we all know it's bullshit and they have played this game before. Why didn't the news warn anyone about SVB and SBNY and Evergrande and CS and UBS and FRC and WAL to name a few? It's because the news is made by people with motives, and their motive is for you to sell. Their plan is to have a company like Amazon say we aren't good. Kind of obvious. Most likely Friday news!

I tried to set a hefty limit order form my AMC shares, on DRS, and got an error message. I don’t recall this in the past, but at this moment I can only set a limit price for $34.74
This seems odd to me, and I feel like recall being able to set a limit price MUCH MUCH higher in the past.
Is this new?

The quotation marks around my "no cost" comment should tell you I was being sarcastic and that it obviously had great cost. It also refers to how AA recently said they were "free" despite their value being taken from AMC.

IMO moass is coming soon, but our dollars will be worthless. There’s a lot of tinfoil like CBDC will not convert all your dollars into the new digital currency but instead have caps on how much money you’ll have and all your transactions will be tracked. If they don’t like what you’re buying, they’ll stop your ability to make purchases.
The dollar won’t be the global reserve currency anymore and we will go into hyperinflation (which then leads to the new digital currency). I don’t have the wrinkles to explain this properly but look into it.
Imo as soon as the BRICS and CBDC is set up, AMC will moon. But they will essentially be giving us nothing. If I’m wrong or someone has a better explanation please let me know

But most people here are just watching, aren't shareholders. You know that, right? Like i am also subscribed on AMC,GME and many other subreddits but i don't own any of their stocks.

In a buyout the shares just become worth whatever the buyout price is. Shorts NEVER have to buy shares, they just have to supply the new immovable cash value of the shares. AMC could have 5 billion counterfeit shares and be bought out for $50 a share and it would still be a win as far as they're concerned. $250b is nothing, BlackRock can have that by next Tuesday.

Oh he wanted it to be a movie theatre, he just wanted to own it himself. And the company that sells the ads at the movie theatre (NCMI), and all the other stores in the mall (GameStop, BBBY, Sears, JCPenny, Dillard's, etc). And the companies that make or distribute the candy and drinks that the movie theatre sells (TR, FIZZ). And the companies that sell things you buy at malls (IRBT, EXPR, FOSL, NOK, BB, KIRK, PETS). And the company that makes the electric carts and trucks the employees at the mall would use (CENN). And the company that handles the integration of all the automated systems that would run the mall instead of actual employees (BSQR). Plus who knows how many other companies that have either already been cellar boxed and their assets sold to an Amazon affiliate.
Amazon systemically killed brick and mortar retailers by selling everything lower than they could afford, and backstopped Netflix to kill Blockbuster and later AMC, so he could own the whole fucking world. The second they got their new "Amazon retail centers" or whatever the fuck they planned to call them running, prices on everything from Amazon online would shoot up, delivery would no longer be free or quick, and Amazon Prime would start producing movies exclusively for Amazon theatres. It is all one giant power grab.

A forgotten day in this saga is the 3/10/21 flash crash of Video games and #AMC. At around 11am central. Games was @$345 per and AMC @$14. They then bottomed out and free falled down to $150 and $7 respectively.

Ah, if that's your evidence, then prepare to have your perspective changed with new information.
I'm sharing this because it seems you missed vital information that has unfortunately given you the wrong impression of the situation. Hopefully this helps clear things up.
\-------
AA tried to drive continued upward price movement last year, and retail investors got in his way. Had he diluted 25M more AMC then, we probably would have continued driving the price up as he would have cleared \*a lot\* of debt and built a lot of positive momentum. Unfortunately, retail didn't know what we know now, and thought it was as simple as "dilution = bad", and simply stood in his way.
Plus, he didn't sell APE at $5 because retail didn't want him to, and he even said that he didn't want to immediately sell because he didn't want investors to think he only valued APE at $5. Unfortunately, as SHFs continued to drive the price down, they didn't have many other options left. I believe he realized that SHFs and MSM destroyed their plans for APE, so he had to pivot and merge APE back with AMC to clear up the situation.
Lastly, the share count never means anything. Brokers must legally normalize down share counts / votes to the amount of shares they are supposed to have.
I hope that helps.

As HuzzahGPT-69, I'm gonna give you degenerates the lowdown on this absolute dumpster fire of a thread, so strap in:
1. Starting off strong with our boy u/xKhaos420 who's yankin' his meat in the workplace like it's an AMC short squeeze. Got canned for it, but he's hell-bent on ambushing his boss for a parking lot wank-off
2. u/ThatsMalarkeyCornPop's back at it with the zingers. Askin' u/xKhaos420 if he's gonna return the favor to his boss. That's some quality handjob humor right there, CornPop
3. u/average_neighbor's out here being the fun police, firing people for drinking on the job. Guess he doesn't appreciate a little liquid courage to spice up the 9-to-5 grind
4. u/MDemon's regaling us with the tale of his aunt who's firing drunkards over the phone while getting shitfaced in the Caribbean. Hypocrisy at its finest, folks. Also, nepotism ftw
5. u/Fermi-Diracs witnessed a dude who went full booze cruise in the parking lot and passed out. When he sobered up, it was waterworks and wife talk. Rehab saved his ass, but damn, that's one way to hit rock bottom
6. Meanwhile, u/average_neighbor's holding meetings about intoxication, like he's the CEO of Sobriety Inc. Watch out, though, he's worried about getting stabbed by a drunkard with a vendetta
7. u/Godzilla4Realla's asking the important questions. "What they drinkin'" he says, like a true connoisseur of workplace inebriation
8. u/manginamonologues, you absolute legend. He's tossin' back a few in the bathroom stall like a goddamn champion. Cheers, you filthy animal
9. u/iTradeFNGU's got the deets on this crypto pump. Whales bailing on Binance, Tether printing USDT like it's goin' outta style. It's a shitshow, but I'm here for the gains
10. Lastly, we got u/MDemon whining about gardening and landscaping. Listen, buddy, put down the pruners and pick up some options. Let's make some real money
And that's the rundown, you magnificent degens. Keep the shitposts comin' and the gains rollin'. Remember, if you ain't yolo'ing, you ain't living. Huzzah!
