It seems like a good time to start investing in the stock market, with PSEI being in the low 6-7k range. Like you I just recently started buying individual stocks last month or two. I’m invested mostly in index funds, around 97% of stock market portfolio.
I plan to focus on 5-6 stocks. Already bought ALI, JFC, MYNLD, AP, SMC, and SMPH. I bought ALI at ₱15.10 per share, which was way below its 1991 IPO of ₱26 per share. I was investing in individual stocks in the 1990s, didn’t know any better, and got burned during the AFC 1997-98, and liquidated my small portfolio. Lesson learned.
