Full-time trader here.
According to SEC 13F filings, the number of funds holding HTZ for the last four quarters has remained between 300 and 320, which tells me they won't run away and some might fuel the move.
The last seven quarters have shown positive EPS, and the last two have brought positive sales growth.
As for earnings:
* HTZ reports Q2 (Jun) loss of $(0.11) per share, excluding non-recurring items, but still **$0.13 better than** the consensus of ($0.24).
* Revenues rose 9.7% year/year to $2.40 billion versus the $2.27 billion consensus.
During Q2, Hertz advanced several of its highest-priority platform initiatives. It made great strides in shoring up its Rent-a-Car business, effectively leveraging the power of the Hertz brand.
ADI Global Distribution (ADIG) was added to the S&P SmallCap 600, replacing Hertz Global (HTZ), effective prior to the opening of trading on Wednesday, August 5. That already happened.
Importantly: **Jane Street Group discloses 5% stake in HTZ**.
HTZ might do an offering, but only if the stock moves significantly.
I see $2.93 - $3.30 as achievable targets, and euphoria after that.
