I know this is an old thread, but I found it from googling "How much Crypto should I hold?"

My fiancée and I invest together, but I call the shots, so I can't afford to go too risky with these things. I've landed on 15% of our portfolio in Bitcoin. I'd like to diversify the crypto holdings once we have a larger nest egg, but Bitcoin feels the most stable at the moment.

We are trying to build a family, so I can't afford to do anything too risky with our weekly contribution, so I use my own version of the BogleHead method. I take my own age as a percentage, so 30%, and I put that in a US Treasury Bond ETF ($AGG). Then I take 40%, and put that in a general market ETF (I used to do $SPY, but now I'm doing $ACVF. They're almost the same thing, but you can't blame a guy for investing on principles.) Outfit of the remaining 30%, half goes to Bitcoin, and the other half can be divided between specific company stocks that I really believe in and don't plan on selling for a decade or so.

My risk aversion in this investment strategy isn't based off coeardice, I just need the peace of mind knowing that if the absolute worst happens, my lovely darling fiancée, wo I would die for any day of the week, will still get her 3 meals per day and a comfy life insurance payout if the worst were to happen.
