They're not losing ground anymore, they're regaining lost ground as we speak. 20A and 18A will not only bring them back to parity, but superiority, and that's just the beginning. There's several nodes in the works as we speak with roughly a year cadence between new architectures and new nodes. Theyll beat both TWMC and Samsung to 2nm with Backside Power Delivery and GAAFET by as much as 2 years, giving them a massive advantage until the competition catches up.
It's not nearly as doom and gloom as people think. There's a lot of FUD when it comes to Intel on these forums. Yes, they stagnated for several years, but since Gelsinger took over in 2021, the turnaround has been nothing short of incredible. Once 20A and 18A release, people will see that.
