Power is the bottleneck, it just does not have the headlines like the chip and or memory shortage has. The thing is, you can't just build a power plant tomorrow. It takes years to build, even if you can get your hands on the equipment, which is in short supply as well.
I heard that a seimens gas turbine is running a 5 year lead time? If that is correct, if you were to place an order today, you would not be receiving turbines for 5 years.
Nuclear, well shit, that is a far off type of play. There again, the lead times are years, like 3 years at fucking best.
I can build a data center, but the grid operator may not allow me to hook up to the grid. There are rumours that only 28% of planned AI data centers will be able to be hooked up to the grid. Where is the rest of this power coming from? old aircraft engines? don't laugh, it's happening!
You could say, well this is why Bloom Energy (BE) is worth so much, and such a valuable company. Or the argument that, data centers will be built with attached power plants....well, please see my first point on gas turbines/nuclear. I understand there are other ways of powering data centers, but these are the ones people are talking about.
There are issues with the supply of BE's scandium (I think that's what it's called). Apparently China basically controls the market, so that is a bit of an issue.
Power is the bottleneck, but how does one make money today? It is not the companies that are building the power plants or supplying the "bits and bolts" for them, those have already ran.
NEOCLOUDS!!!! this is where the power is. They all obtained MASSIVE amounts of power for their crypto mining rigs/centers. Quite a few of them are transitioning to AI data centers, with 15+ year leases. THEY HAVE THE POWER, IT IS ALREADY THERE, ALREADY APPROVED, READY TO ROCK AN ROLL. Why do you think hyperscalers are bending over backwards to sign deals with neoclouds. They understand that, power is the bottleneck, not chips, not memory, not rare earths....IT IS POWER!!!!!!
You can argue that they have ran as well, which is true, but they are worth so much more than they are being valued at.

Positions: I hold positions in the following, and will be adding on any significant pullbacks:
HIVE, IREN, CRWV, HUT, KEEL
