I’d buy RIOT but I like to trade the volatility of it

In my view, the difference between RIOT and MARA is not just temporary, but largely driven by their different operating models: Riot Platforms is more vertically integrated on the energy side and is increasingly trying to position its infrastructure in an HPC/AI context, while MARA remains more of a pure-play Bitcoin mining company focused on scale and operational leverage.
That said, it’s still too early to say whether this represents a true strategic shift toward AI for RIOT or simply a market-driven narrative around energy optionality.
