This is actually the best advice. Don’t sell winners—much better to lose relatively small profits if things go south than miss out on massive gains from sitting and holding. My net worth would be triple what it is now if I’d simply held onto my basket from 15 yrs ago, which I thought I killed merely by doubling what now would be a small investment for me (TSLA, GOOG, MSFT).
Bottom line: BUY AND HOLD YOUR WINNERS. SELL ONLY WHEN YOU NEED THE MONEY OR THINK THERE’S A BETTER PLAY TO ROTATE INTO. Invest new money in other stocks or accumulate more of your winners.
