ok so everyone's locked in on the rate decision but the move pricing is basically saying nothing happens. 98.6% unchanged at 3.50-3.75. yawn.
the real thing wednesday is kevin warsh's debut presser. been pulling chart setups on moomoo all morning and the setup is wild because nobody knows what flavor of warsh shows up.
three rough paths i keep going back and forth on:
dovish warsh, front end rallies, curve bull steepens, MOVE drops 5-10. small caps and growth eat. green across the screen.
warsh being warsh (my base case tbh), he kills forward guidance, bear steepener, MOVE pops 8-12. real assets win, rate sensitive tech bleeds red. about 57% of the tape thinks he scraps the dot plot entirely which would be kinda nuts.
hawkish tilt, validates the 41.6% pricing for 3.75-4.00 by december, dollar rips, SPY takes about 2% on the chin.
core PCE still at 3.0-3.1 so he's got cover to lean either way honestly.
what i don't get is why IWM hasn't moved at all into this. either the market is asleep or i'm reading the setup wrong.
anyone positioning into this or just sitting it out? holding any vol going in?
