Hey guys,
It has been a while since my last post! Last month, I ran a contest on my YouTube channel: 'Pick 7 stocks and win $2,500.' We ended up with 750 participants and a total of 5,250 stock picks.
I broke down the results in a new video today, but I figured you would like to see where retail sentiment actually sits right now:
|**Rank**|**Ticker**|**Points**|
|:-|:-|:-|

|2|APP|301|
|3|AVGO|281|
|4|AMZN|224|

Honestly, the community picks do not look terrible to me.
* Do you think people are right this time?
* Which one looks like the best value bet on the list?
At this point, I really do not care about chasing views or subscriber counts. My channel is doing just fine, and I would honestly rather keep the real discussion right here. But if you are curious to see the breakdown with my italian accent, you can check out the video here:

Every once in a while I pick a top comment or post from what seem like reddit trading experts and see what their recommended stocks have done in the last year or so.
No ill will, I am not listing the user's handle, just pointing it out in the hopes that it helps someone.
Below if from a top post from a top contributor 10 months ago. All % are YTD.

Yea, some people don't really understand the facts. The Mag7 have cash up their ass. In fact, there were so much cash that 5 of them started spending it wildly. MSFT, GOOG, AMZN, META, and NVDA are throwing cash everywhere to see where it sticks.

AI isn’t going anywhere, adoption is slower than I thought but it is building. AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud demand is real until proven otherwise. It is a war of attrition between them, google has laid the groundwork to expand capex and that is what they have done. They were ahead of the game with TPUs, securing memory , power, and raising capital. The ones right now with the negative FCF are the ones most efficient at building it out. That is the takeaway wallstreet is missing. If you have demand for a high margin product and you have the capital to deploy it to grow and capture as much market share as possible, you fucking do it. I don’t give a shit about negative FCF for a quarter or even a year if it delivers. Analysts overall have modestly dropped their price targets for google and amazon, but the consensus is signifcantly higher than what they are currently trading at. This is an opportunity here. Maybe not a generational one like META in 2022 when it crashed to $90, but it is a significant opportunity.

I don’t think a lot of people truly realize that this is a matter of whether the ad business for AI overviews are going to be as lucrative as Google Search. Google Search was effectively a monopoly and advertisers truly had no place to go.
Gemini is not going to be a monopoly. It’s clear that the competition with Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, whatever META is doing, and Co-pilot is going to lead to a type of oligopoly in the AI market.
AI Overview has tougher competitors to go up against, a lot of people go straight to ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok instead of searching on Google.

Yea I think that’s the argument for companies like GOOG, META, and MSFT (or maybe even TSLA), they can bundle in existing products.
I do not have a very strong opinion but I can see the argument, I do not know how much is already priced in.

Dilution is literally the company slicing your share of the pie into smaller pieces and saying “trust me, we’ll bake a bigger pie later." The actual context here is META creating a new share class to raise up to $700B while keeping Zuck in control, Amazon openly planning years of negative FCF in a high‑rate environment and Google raising $80B plus debt while renting compute because they’re out of capacity. This has nothing to do with we’re so profitable we just HAVE to dilute.
Dilution is good if the returns actually materialize. Saying “IRR is positive” before the investment pays off is just corporate hopium dressed up as math.

I think it has more to do with ad sector in general.
If that is what you meant.
APP, PINS, and META all had downturns this year. Amazons ad division also came under what was expected

How much does META make from you?
sentiment 0.000
Is it undervalued, Yes.
Should you buy it. Depends on the conviction you have for future earnings.
My basic thesis, is that more discretionary spending maybe spent on essentias in the coming few years (food, gas, etc.), more expensive hardware for general computing and then more subscriptions for AI models in general.
For entertainment, I'm no sure if movies are going to be able to keep up with what's projected to be AI capable in 2027.
Not to mention, literally META, Youtube and even Twitch. Not even mentioning TikTok.
Personally bearish, but then again Intel did rebound at around USD 20. So anything's possible. But for me, no.

At some point hyper scalers will cut capex. And chip stocks will go back to where they belong in the double-digit price range. And hyper-scaler stocks will surge. $META $MSFT $AMZN 🚀

Microsoft and META are aggressively cutting employee use of Claude ahead of Anthropic's IPO.
Microsoft has cut internal claude spend by more than 33%, nuked per-employee token budget from $100k/month to $10k/month, and forced Copilot to auto-route to cheaper models.
META used Claude code to build Muse, then cut active users from 60,000 to 30,000 (50% decline) after launch, and replaced it with Muse Code.
Palantir and Nvidia are also scaling back claude over soaring prices and data privacy.

\~$1.1M portfolio: 1.25 BTC (\~$100k, largest position), mega-cap tech (NVDA, MSFT, AAPL, GOOGL, AMZN, META, AVGO, TSM), VOO/QQQ/VGT, blue chips (JPM, V, MA, BRK.B, COST, LLY, JNJ, KO, HD), plus a little SCHD and SGOV.
Most top holdings yield under 1%, and BTC yields nothing. I'm up 54%, so any rotation means a tax bill.
Goal: $30k/yr in dividends over the next few years without torching the gains.
\- Sell BTC first since it pays nothing, or keep it as the growth sleeve and trim tech?
\- Sell and rotate, or just redirect new money and dividends into SCHD and dividend growers?
\- Which blue chips would you keep as-is?

I disagree.
GOOGL MSFT AMZN META are the big spenders keeping this all afloat.
Once they secure their AI cloud infrastructure and stop spending, this oligopoly will be the primary beneficiaries
Anthropic and OpenAI will just layer on

I wasn't bullish on RDDT. In fact, before the earnings I was trying to tell people why its not "free money". US DAU growth was only 2.5% last time and that was the biggest issue I could see. Now, it is -2%.
Their ARPU is very low but they are growing it by more than 50% YoY. ARPU being this low compared to META is bad because it means its harder to monetize but on the plus side, it leaves more upside on the table.
But all that is irrelevant. Yes, even though i was proven right, my thesis had nothing to do with Friday's fall. Friday's selloff was largely just panic and margin calls and stop losses. Look at Sandisk, triple beat and still fell 14% lamo. Poor reddit had no chance.
Stop over analyzing last week. It had nothing to do with fundamentals. For any stock. It's just war escalation fears before the mid terms. Look at oil mooning higher than when the war was at its peak lmao. This is nothing but fear.

For the possibility of a post earnings bounce, I'm holding AAPL, IREN, AMD, and PLTR.
I'm averaging down on GOOGL, META, NVDA, INTC, MRVL, and CLS. If the rally on Monday and/or Tuesday fails, I'll buy more. When they inevitably rebound, even if it's only modest, I'll still be up and riding the trend. I may ladder or I may hold for a while. Depends on how I'll feel and what news comes along.
I also scooped up some RKLB and RDDT while rooting around at the bottom of the barrel. Just for fun.
