I logically understand that growth plays may be better in the long run but seeing, not only the monthly payout but also how it grows every month, keeps me engaged and motivated.
I HOPE to be "retired" by 50 and I'm 43 now. Looking at this income and seeing how it grows helps me plan for that. Fwiw, I don't plan to stop working but I would like to not work as hard and be able to pursue other things that might generate income in the long run and make up for a grueling full time job. Having that investment income safety net will allow for the freedom to do that.
I could be completely wrong and miss the mark and have to work until my dying day, but I feel like this gives me a shot.
