No matter how you look at it, 50° × 16° @ 3–10 Hz are mediocre specs. Just one correction: the VFOV (16°) is the part limited by the OEA design. In theory, the 50° HFOV could be improved with a different scanning solution. HALO, as a product, looks to be on another level.
I’m not really sure what the intended use case for this sensor is right now. I originally thought FMCW was supposed to replace HALO down the line, but now I’m starting to think they may want to keep HALO and use an additional Scantinel sensor specifically for trucks.
Even for C-UAS, that FoV and refresh rate seem kind of strange.
