Hey everyone,
I’m looking to step into prop trading and trying to figure out which account type makes the most sense for beginners.
Here is how I’m seeing the main options so far:
2-Step Evaluation:
Pros: Cheaper entry fee, higher leverage, standard drawdown rules.
Cons: Takes longer to get funded; higher profit targets to hit.
1-Step Evaluation:
Pros: Quicker path to a funded account.
Cons: Strict drawdown limits (often trailing) and tighter risk controls.
Instant / Direct Funding:
Pros: No evaluation phase; start earning right away.
Cons: Significantly higher upfront cost, smaller profit splits, and lower scaling potential.
For those with experience, which account model gives beginners the best balance of cost, risk rules, and overall pass rates? Which top-tier firms currently sit at the "center table" for these offers?
Also, has anyone here traded with Funding Your Trades Prop (FYT)? I’d love to get real community feedback on their payout reliability, rule strictness, and execution speed before making a decision.
