well, this thread is true to form for smallstreetbets ... DJT is like MSTR, a bitcoin treasury/proxy that used leverage to purchase crypto, but its nav is not 100% bitcoin (closer to 30%). with a net asset value of $2B approximately 500M is in bitcoin holdings, including liabilities they have a net equity of $1B. the media core of the business only represents about $4M in revenue annually, it costs nothing to operate. fair market value given the current price of bitcoin alone is \~1.50-1.75/share, for their non bitcoin assets it's another $2.7-5/share the current "fear" for this ticker is the 2028 convertible senior secure notes which can be PUT exercised Nov 30 (due Dec 2026) -- the company can FORCE a conversion if the price remains above $4.32(ish), otherwise they convert at \~$3.47/share -- this puts a $989M liability on December where the company "may" force a conversion (think of it like a repurchase where they would liquidate assets to burn cash to payout convertible notes.) if not exercised, the notes mature in 2028. the company suffers a cash burn of \~150M/yr, and hold \~$225M in cash and another $120M in goodwill. it's unlikely to reach $0 for another 18 months, and at $75K their BTC holdings are currently worth more than cost basis. If you felt strongly about it going to zero there are $1 LEAPs at $3 strike (put side) for 2029, and you could stand to double/triple your money if you're right, but even if they repurchased all outstanding shares and converted all outstanding notes the company would still have \~500M+ in assets remaining, which would mean their actual price floor (fully liquidated) is closer to $2/share. so, depends on how weak you believe Bitcoin is between now and 2028. the risk isn't the core business, that's a fart in the wind compared to DJT's bitcoin holdings (less than 1%) and less than a fart compared to total net assets, the risk is having leveraged bitcoin (same as MSTR) -- and DJT has in the past sold BTC to re-leverage into more BTC (for a 30% increase in holdings.) if DJT breaks below $2 before 2028 and bitcoin holds above $100k you'd actually be wise to buy and hold. you won't see $120/share based on bitcoin holdings unless BTC reaches $2M/per. the price is likely to rebound after the Nov-30 conversion date passes, especially if the share price holds below $4.32, it defers the liability for another two years, and they're already in a position to fully convert those notes and still have a FMV (based on NAV) of >$4 (hence the 4.32 forced CALL option the company holds.) ... and now you know.

Yes and no. Partly the increased price in oil is due to uncertainty and scarcity. Eventually if the "toll" is agreed upon and formalized it'll be absorbed into the cost of doing business. The spike in price was also due to the risk associated with crossing the straight during the middle of an armed conflict. No more armed conflict means much less risk and thus more supply of the oil. Theoretically if Iran oil embargo is lifted if would mean more oil in the market thus potentially lower prices even with the toll on oil ships that don't originate in Iran. Its unlikely oil prices will fall to pre DJT war of aggression in Iran anytime soon but not impossible in a few years if stability is at the forefront of foreign policy.
