This July deadline you mentioned - it can be extended via normal shareholder vote or sometimes even without a vote the sponsors can deposit more money in the trust and extend the deadline (see DWAC -> DJT). Or it can even be delisted and list on OTC (see DMYY -> HQ).
You are talking number of shares, investors and float, but what is the revenue / profit of this company? SPACs are notoriously overvalued. This is what matters, not if they signed some bullshit with the UK. Math! It’s all math, not vibes!
The current float may be shorted but after closing, the float will expand massively, many times over, as lockups expire in rapid succession.
tbh I would short it too! Only danger is the well documented SPAC pop which can obliterate your short, but if you gave me put option for 1-2 dollars and strike of 5 in 1 year, I would buy it.

Oh, see, WSB is political, or maybe a religion? They worship Elon, J Pow and DJT. This sub isn't just about bad trades, it's a pedagogy, and shorting DJT is a thought crime.
You can cleanse yourself of your sins by saying 10 "Hail Elons," buying a hopeless meme stock, or posting an incomprehensible wall of text about a purely insane trading strategy on 100 mg (or more) of Adderall.

Shorting DJT is a good call, if you can appropriately guess his date of death. It’ll be fine until then.

First because it’s a meme stock. If sentiment turns and it gets pumped to all-time highs then shorting it would get you a 1200% loss and a likely margin call. In contrast, if it traded down to its book value then you would be picking up roughing a roughly 50% gain. Risk to reward for shorting isn’t very good. Second, it is sitting on a sizable stockpile of BTC, ETH, etc. if the crypto market turns due to the CLARITY Act passing, due to the fed engaging in QE, due to accelerating adoption, etc., then DJT will trade up along with the broader BTC/crypto market. That isn’t a problem if you want to be short on the crypto markets, but given how volatile upswings in those are, there are many who do not want to take that risk.
I have no position either way, but if you are going to play the short side you are probably better off buying puts to limit your downside exposure.

Sometimes investors try to blow up short positions in failing companies, and a few of the forum’s historical biggest winners have been leveraged long positions in those failing companies that blew out shorts over and over. DJT is a high volatility meme stock, so even though it’s a dumpster fire, the cost and risk profile of shorting it makes it a risky play.

Regardless of whether or not the content is trash (although it obviously is), their financials are horrendous. It has a long way to drop still. The problem is timing and interest/premiums. Everybody knows this piece of shit will sink, now they’re betting on when. Long-term options are also fairly illiquid: daily volume on DJT derivatives is very low in general.
I’m down somewhere in the ballpark of $3k from buying puts on this fucker, and I’m going to keep doing it until they hit. I’ve had a few good months, and some really bad ones.

Look at crypto. Look at ticker DJT. Trump got paid billions, the aftermath is irrelevant to him.

The thing about the internet is it spreads misinformation just like most of the mainstream media. As for the price of spcx, it has not done anything extraordinary that other stocks has done. If you are a trader like I am then you would know that volatility provides opportunities for many smart traders. Perhaps you are an investor in which case your metrics should be adjusted accordingly. Does it have a positive outlook in the long run? If that's the case then simply wait for the price to stabilize, buy, sit on it. Forget you own it. Not long ago DJT showed us what happens to an IPO. Until income is established, it's a crapshoot unless you have information by reliable insiders. Finally, trading is not for the masses. If you are faint at heart, perhaps looking for a better job is in order for now.
