In an IRA and so I can’t speak to tax implications.
If you are looking at higher yield ETFs, I recommend looking at things other than these two ETFs as they have lagged behind. For a tech sleeve, try pairing TDAQ with BALQ. TDAQ offers you a higher yield while BALQ will help support long-term growth. You can do the same with TSPY and BALI. Some people like GPIQ and GPIX as barbells. They are ok. Not bad choices. Just find the Blackrock ETFs, especially BALQ, much more compelling.
High yield income requires beta and so you could also look at crypto related ETFs. I combine BTCI with BITA under the same logic of higher yield with a better growth engine. While up from lows, it’s not a bad time to enter those still.
To be successful, you must reinvest back into your portfolio. I suggest putting back at least 5% of your capital annually to help offset NAV losses and inflation. Also think you need to help some lower yield options that offer higher dividend growth to help your long-term success.
CC ETFs are starting to get to the 2.5-3.0 generation. These newer ETFs are trying to solve issues with earlier versions. BALQ today is the best example of that that I’m aware of. Young fund but is beating QQQ by 30%. [Total Returns Comparison](https://totalrealreturns.com/s/QQQ,BALQ,TDAQ,QQQI)
Stay away from single stock funds, any crypto beyond BTC based and “basket” of stock funds especially any that rebalance regularly. They will all fail you eventually for different reasons.
