All that rambling doesn't mean you don't invest in anti-drone tech, or your own offensive shit. My god, we're still top tier in that. Just look at $AVAV stock (I recommended it back in 2022). What it does mean is all that I said. If you can avoid that type of fight, you avoid it, and the best way to avoid it is by dominating spaces the enemy can't.
The only country we would have a problem with is China, and we ain't ever fighting a land war against China again. They have even less interest in that fight than we do. But you still need that technology edge at the tactical level because look at Gaza. Plenty of IDF soldiers still got got by Hamas dudes fighting well below their level because of the cheap advantages today's tech offers.
But at the theater level, your objective is to make the enemy quit. You do that the way I said. Your drone and counter-drone tech is just there to make sure your boys near the front feel as little pain as possible while the guys on the other side feel it to the maximum.
As far as heavy vehicles go, I've been out on tanks since like 2005. I think they kinda fucking suck, and the utility of a large calibre gun is pretty minimal. Wheeled mine-resistant and drone-resistant vehicles are the way to go. You really only need tracked APC/IFV for shit ass terrain like fucking Bakhmut. And you don't wanna be in Bakhmut.
