No, because older Americans generally make up the largest voting bloc. Retirees have more time to vote. Seniors aside, SS is very popular across Americans and ending the program has always been seen as suicidal.
You can't just frame it as "stopping paying into social security" because it would be a sunk cost. "You're telling me I paid into SS for ten years and I'm not going to see any benefits?" As well, DOGE did cut employees from the SS admin, but the BBB gave an up to 6k tax deduction for seniors including from SS. Even this gung ho admin can't end the damn program.
I also disagree, there's been numerous times people have come together to stop legislation. SOPA, PIPA, ACTA were widely protested and never came into effect. PM subs are plagued by nihilistic tea party types, but that view isn't totally correct. We still live in a democracy even if the people elect idiots. If you don't think the people have any power to change things then you're part of the problem not the solution. The elites want people to think they can't do anything, but we have seen at numerous points the when the people rise up and use their power that change is possible. This is still possible today.
