Apologies to those who may not want to read, this may be a bit of an essay...
While I know some of us get excited by penny stocks for the wrong (or right) reasons, I have been doing A LOT of DD recently on a company I truly believe is about to enter a new phase. Now, I know that **Quantum** has seen its run recently and the hype may have died down a bit, but I don't think this company has had its day yet, and the reason being, no one is worried about the threat quantum computing poses... But the more research I do, the more alarmed I am.
01 Quantum Inc. (formerly 01 Communique Labs) **TSX: ONE.V OTC: OONEF** has been deep in the development of post-quantum cybersecurity products for the last 7 years. (Keep in mind this company has been around for 32 years and has been listed since 2000.) They were originally a remote access tech and software company but, while they still offer their legacy products, they have been making the transition into Quantum-Safe cybersecurity. They've been so deep in development, in fact, that they have done very little in the way of marketing or self-promotion up until recently.
Most people underestimate how big of a deal quantum computing is for security. Our entire digital world today – banking, government systems, cloud services, even crypto – is protected by encryption standards like RSA and ECC. These rely on the fact that it’s basically impossible for classical computers to factor large numbers or solve certain math problems in any reasonable time.
Quantum computers flip that on its head. Once they scale, Shor’s algorithm can crack RSA/ECC in *hours*, not centuries. That means everything we trust today – passwords, digital signatures, private communications, financial systems – becomes exposed. The scary part is the **"harvest now, decrypt later"** threat: bad actors can already be recording encrypted data today, waiting until quantum computing is strong enough to break it.
Before you tell me that we're still decades away from the quantum era, think about how far we've come in the last 25 years when it comes to computing, now look at how fast AI has come in the last 5. You're going to tell me, that, especially with the power of AI, we're not going to be able to have a quantum breakthrough?
Governments and big tech are already preparing for what’s called the **post-quantum cryptography era**. NIST is standardizing new encryption methods resistant to quantum attacks, but most businesses aren’t even close to being ready. Transitioning global systems takes years, not months.
That’s why companies like **01 Quantum Inc.** with their trademarked and patented technology are interesting. They are the first to market enterprise offering **PQC** solutions across business, finance, AI and crypto. They already have big-name partnerships like Thales, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Hitachi.
