It’s not sentiment. It’s positioning. It’s high right now because the markets are bloated with semis. So under the cover of “enthusiasm” the indexes are run high by long semi positions clearing, while other sectors are rotated into. For the US, at least by my observation, comms, consumer disc, and REIT are being bumped.
Find long term technically exhausted boring stocks with solid fundamentals, buy them and hedge with leveraged or 1x index or sector (like small cap) ETFs. Whatever direction whichever moves, feed the red of one side with green of the other. For example, I am beginning to enter a few REIT positions, and hedging potential losses with the ETF DRV, a 3x bear real estate sector etf. Yes thy decay so enter and scale accordingly, in a small proportion to the amount of money you invest in the stock in the sector.
When the index drops, you have green money to recycle into your stocks.
That’s my strategy at least.
