If things were to actually come to fruition, I can almost certainly guarantee that for the overwhelming majority of people, as long as they were kept financially whole, they would just shrug their shoulders and move on despite any current loud vocal opposition. Many would secretly even be grateful for the far higher economic opportunities that would now exist.
This is especially true for many immigrants, as Canada was certainly not their first choice as a place to migrate to. Many applied here only because they weren't selected or ineligible for the US. (and if you claim this isn't true - either you are not an immigrant yourself, and/or you're a white Canadian whose family has been here for generations and only listening to what immigrants say to your face - but they are keeping their actual true original intentions to themselves so they don't offend people born here).
Businesses will pivot - some large companies are already putting contingencies into their strategy and BCP on how they will adapt if the US does take over Canada. That's what smart businesses should be doing, and smart individuals with investments should be doing the same.
In the end, never forget Reddit doesn't reflect actual reality.
