LCX, the Liechtenstein Cryptoassets Exchange, is a global financial technology company that focusses on advanced trading tools, the tokenization of assets and security token offerings. LCX aspires to provide a comprehensive range of financial services and products to institutional investors and consumers. The company currently provides a trading platform (LCX Terminal), a centralized exchange for crypto assets and security tokens (LCX Exchange), a tokenization platform (LCX Assets), and has plans to develop additional offerings, including an institutional grade custodian solution and a "blockchain bank". The company received its business license in August of 2018 and is regulated by the Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein and is fully compliant with the Token and Trusted Service Provider Act. LCX operates under the supervision of the Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein (FMA) in accordance with the Token and Trusted Technology Service Provider Act (TVTG), also known as the "Blockchain Act". The FMA offers ten different registration types for which blockchain-related companies may apply. LCX has received approval to operate under eight of these registrations: Exchange Service Provider, Price Service Provider, Identity Service Provider, Token Depository, Key Depository, Token Generator, Token Issuer and Protector. LCX has developed a suite of products that generally correspond to these FMA registrations. For instance, they have launched an exchange service, a pricing service, a token generation platform, etc. Much of the technology appears to be developed in-house, however some technology appears to be the result of acquisition. LCX seems to have acqui-hired a company by the name of Coinally.io just prior to the launch of the LCX Terminal project, for example. No reference of the acquisition is made in company documentation, and no response to requests for information have been provided at the time of writing.
