CRO is finally doing something

Might be worth comparing it on swapspace too if you're thinking of moving some of the CRO around

Does restaking my CRO for the higher percentage (3.8%?) change or eliminate any of my benefits?

Yes on the exchange its called soft staking.
Also, the 180 day gets better. Once its over, you continue getting 8.5% but can take it out i think at anytime. Happened when i completed my 100k CRO lock up..
Will test when my 500k lock is over. Will withdraw small amount.
I hope its not like the cro app where you had to wait a further 28 days even after your stake is finished...

I have been looking deeper into this new Cronos v1.8 upgrade, and the speed increase is only part of the story.
Yes, Cronos is reporting around 20% faster block times and up to 66% higher sustained throughput in simulations. But they are also replacing the old networking system so validators can communicate faster and more reliably.
The new mempool will check transactions earlier instead of leaving so much work for block construction. Parallel EVM execution is also being built directly into the network, allowing multiple smart contracts to be processed at the same time.
They are bringing Cronos above 90% compatibility with Ethereum’s APIs, which should make it easier for developers to move Ethereum apps and tools onto Cronos. On top of that, the upgrade includes more than 40 important fixes focused on security, stability and long term reliability.
Testnet is scheduled for September 30, with mainnet targeted for October 22.
To me, that is the bullish part. This is not just about making CRO transactions slightly faster. It looks like they are preparing the network for more developers, better apps and much heavier activity right as Ult and Cronos Launch are getting started.
It feels like Cronos is quietly building the foundation before the real volume arrives.
