This year is reminiscent of the 2019 year for bitcoin in my opinion. Bitcoin reached over $20k in 2017 & proceeded to drop below $5k for a decent period of time in 2019.
Many people wrote it off and forgot about it. Including myself. Even if it stays steady for months, look at it as an opportunity to accumulate.
2 years after BTC was hovering under 5k it took off to over $60k. Obviously past performance doesn’t guarantee future results.
We will be having the same FOMO & “I should’ve bought” conversations, in just a handful of years we’ll look back and know that we were in fact early.

If you read the comment we are responding to, for this purpose (moving money across borders) you *want* nominal dollars, to avoid exposing yourself to investment (or in the case of BTC — speculation) risks. That person wants to withdraw fiat currency to pay rent, they don't care how much BTC was worth a year ago or in a year from now, they just need to make sure that within the two weeks that they spent holding this coin its value hasn't lost 40% of its value (or else they won't be able to pay their rent).

And it had zero effect on their economy. It lasted less than 3 years & it was Rich people playing rich people games. The comparison to BTC that is worldwide with 100 of millions investing trillions over 2 decades is stupid 🤣

Not true, he often talks about BTC being the purest form of ownership and sovereignty, its resistance to censorship and so on. He has also said on multiple occasions in interviews that he is very libertarian and is not a fan of the government.

I don’t think this is a terrible idea at all as long as you continue to DCA and you are in it for life. My only concern with you doing this, is that you put all your BTC in one wallet…
Please at least consider buying enough cold wallets to store 0.1-0.5 BTC each and no more. You’re playing a dangerous game, which I respect and I like to live dangerously too. But at least diversify your storage so you can NEVER lose all your BTC. Cold wallets only and secure the keys/phrases in a safety deposit box which costs like $100/yr where I live. Also, never store keys/phrases anywhere digitally let it be completely offline inside a bank
