No. It won't, and you know that. More like every new coin, it will go back to dust. It's just better to stick with BTC and projects with value.

Bought CRO in September, I'm down 80% in almost 8 months. Nice average of over -10% per month.
Would never recommend anyone to buy crypto and I only buy BTC now.

Why not just make it a lottery to get 1+ BTC.  Not watching ads to get a fraction of a cent.

You are correctly identifying your biggest threat (Operational Risk / Human Error), but your proposed solutions walk you directly into an even bigger threat: Systemic Counterparty Capture.
If you move your BTC to Kraken or an ETF (IBIT), you are legally executing a downgrade in property rights.
Under current commercial code (UCC Article 8), an ETF or exchange balance is not 'your' Bitcoin. It is a 'Security Entitlement.' You are demoting yourself to an Unsecured Creditor. If the custodian faces a liquidity crisis or a 'bail-in,' the secured creditors (derivative counterparties) have legal super-priority to sweep the pooled collateral. You get what's left.
You are trading the risk of a lost seed phrase for the risk of institutional confiscation.
There is a third option you are missing:
You don't need an ETF; you need Collaborative Custody (like Unchained or Casa).
It’s a 2-of-3 Multisig vault. You hold 2 keys, they hold 1.
If you lose a key while living your nomad lifestyle, you aren't wiped out. The firm uses their 3rd key to help you recover the vault. But because they only have 1 key, they can never move, lend, or seize your Bitcoin.
It solves your 'mismanagement' anxiety without surrendering your property rights to Wall Street. Don't trade atoms for paper IOUs."

If you’ve got a say $100, and you’re taking $30-$40 positions, you need minimally a 6% move of asset price in your favour to even make $2. Ideally you’d be using leverage to take positions larger than your whole account size, so that your stop loss will be around 0.5%-2% of your account each trade e.g. $100 account, I use leverage to buy $500 worth of BTC, BTC only needs to move 0.2% to hit my stop loss of $1.

3 that so far have been life changing financially for me (2 really good, 1 big miss):
1) During the GFC period (2009ish), loaded up on some tech stocks with my meager savings at the time. I put all my liquid net worth into Apple, Amazon, Google, Oracle, Salesforce, and a couple other big tech names. Largely held over the years. That meager amount ended up being a decent nest egg so far. I didn't have any specific foresight, I just understood tech better than other sectors and believed in US software.
2) Around 2018/19, had a hunch that semis as a whole were going to expand secularly due to some combination of AI (I did not have the foresight of predicting the LLM wave, but even back then it was clear to me that machine learning was going to be embedded into more and more systems), proliferation of sensors/IoT, autonomous vehicles, and robotics. So I bought a chunk of semis names including TSMC, Broadcom, AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA. It wasn't a big % of my holdings but have since become a much larger % over time. Funny enough, I almost didn't pull the trigger on NVDA because at the time it seemed expensive and had already gone up 8x or so in the prior couple of years.
3) I took a cryptography class in 2009 and we read the original Bitcoin paper, had a big class discussion on cryptocurrencies and blockchain. I thought it was the stupidest idea in the world. A few years later, some engineer friends of mine raved about BTC and told me I should mine some. I think it was around $0.50 per BTC at the time. I still thought it was the stupidest idea in the world. A few years later, after BTC had a big run, another friend told me about Ethereum and how much better it was, primarily in transaction speed. He told me to buy some. I don't remember the price but it was definitely <$1.00 per ETH. I just ignored him.
Lessons learned:
* Try to identify a broad secular trend, and load up on the biggest names in that trend. I wasn't smart enough to know exactly which co would be the #1 or #2 player, but a composite of 5-10 leaders should perform well if the trend holds up
* When really smart and technical friends rave about some new technical thing, pay attention once in a while. It might not hurt to put a tiny bit of capital into whatever they're evangelizing

Yeah it kind of feels like macro liquidity still drives the bigger moves. Stuff like rate expectations or dollar strength seems to hit BTC harder than most crypto specific headlines lately.
Crypto news still matters, but more in the short term or for sentiment spikes. The bigger trend shifts usually line up with broader market conditions. Curious if that changes again once we’re deeper into the next cycle though.

It really has felt weirdly calm compared to everything around it. When BTC stops acting like the most emotional asset in the room, people start reading way more into that than usual.
To me this still looks more like compression than “smart money” certainty though. Sideways can be strength, but if it keeps failing to reclaim momentum then it can turn into distribution fast.

> The other thing being advocated for is putting these BTC into some fund to be used to increase the security budget.
I think we get this. There won't be a consensus that it's a *bad* idea, and the miners can do it unilaterally after which the influencers will have to either agree it was a good idea or say that Bitcoin was successfully attacked by the miners, and it can't be the second of those because that would be bad for Bitcoin and the number one rule of being a Bitcoin influencer is that anything that happened is good for Bitcoin.

Even if it stabilizes, the USD is still going to deflate in value so BTC will still go up against the USD… over the long term.

Utterly repulsive service. About to just convert it all to BTC and remove it from my account. In October I tried to withdraw some USD but they insisted on some passkey verification that I never enabled and never needed p. After weeks of back and forth BS and sending them a selfie with my ID, blablabla, they just ghosted me. Still can't withdraw my own cash from my account six months later. Call me crazy but I smell financial trouble for this company.....for so many people to have access to their own cash revoked and yanked around like this, I don't think they mean to return it.

Because 335k in BTC is supposed to be the same as 2500k in fiat by OP’s maths. If I have to wait until BTC is worth 2500k in fiat to retire, then it is not worth the same to me as 2500k in fiat now.

Not strictly true, let’s remember they’ve already put some of the 70B CRO into circulation, but in the grand scheme of things, I agree with you. However, will it restrict the price below $0.07 for ever, especially when we see BTC go above $100K??
