That's nothing compared to the 2nd largest exchange globally going insolvent.  In fact, the Saylor buying helped prop up BTC for most of the year.

The big event was Saylor borrowing billions to smash buy BTC and pump it to ATHs. Thats over

I've realized over the last year that I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about how money moves.
Part of my income comes in fiat, part of it comes from crypto, and I've ended up running Revolut, Wise, and Keytom in parallel for longer than I'd like to admit.
Wise is still hard to beat when it comes to international transfers. If someone is paying me from another country, it usually does exactly what I need it to do with minimal friction. The downside is that it feels completely disconnected from the crypto world.
Revolut sits somewhere in the middle. I've used it for years, the app is great, and I like having traditional banking and crypto exposure in the same place. But at the end of the day, the crypto side still feels like an investment feature rather than something designed to be used. Every time I want to spend crypto, there's still an extra conversion step involved.
The interesting one for me has been Keytom. I started using it because I wanted to stop treating crypto as something separate from the rest of my finances. Being able to hold assets like BTC, ETH, or USDC and spend from the same balance feels much closer to what I thought "crypto adoption" would look like years ago.
What I've found is that none of these apps are really competing with each other directly. Wise solves international banking. Revolut solves everyday convenience. Keytom solves the crypto-to-real-world problem.
The funny part is that after years of hearing that crypto would replace traditional finance, I still find myself using a combination of both almost every day.
Maybe that's what adoption actually looks like. Not one app replacing everything else, but traditional finance and crypto slowly becoming indistinguishable from one another.
At this point, I'm less interested in which company wins and more interested in where we're headed over the next five years. The gap between crypto and traditional banking feels a lot smaller today than it did when I bought my first BTC.

It’s much easier to make more sand than it is to make more BTC. It’s also a lot easier to transport and divide BTC than sand. You’ll never know if someone sneaks up and takes a bit of your sand. There’s millions of copies of a permanent record of who has BTC and who they transferred it to.

I love BTC, and have been investing previously off and on for about 10 years... But with quantum computing progressing it will inevitably be less valuable and prone to be exploited. Happy to be wrong here if someone wants to convince me (with sources).

Your boy Saylor was a major factor in BTC going up last cycle. Now that he’s tapped out , well other tokens will outpace BTC next cycle for sure. ETH is the most likely candidate.

La última subida de BTC explosiva a 124k fue por que se suponía que tendrían un presidente pro crypto, hasta que se dieron cuenta que el tipo no tenía ni idea.

Well by that logic you could have mined BTC and Ethereum or bought a few hundred bucks and been a billionaire now from 2014.

I’m dropping 15-20k on October 5th whatever the price is . I thought I saw somewhere that July is a good month for BTC historically . Think it runs down for a couple months to the bottom after . I only have around 5k in BTC currently . But I got some powder to fire off

I've been with Kraken since 2013, sold countless hundreds of BTC back then and never had issues withdrawing. Still my number one choice to this day.

Im going to make one right meow…. The BTC ETF market has diluted BTC and we will never see explosive growth the way we have in the past… ETFs mean we no longer have 21million BTC we have infinite BTC…. BTC growth will more or less track the S/P from meow on.

Strategy sold $544.5m worth of MSTR last week, bought no BTC and increased its dollar reserve to $3.75b. That apparently gives them 2.1 years of dividend coverage. They still own 843,775 BTC, so this clearly isn’t them turning bearish.
I know corporate balance sheets and personal finances aren’t the same thing, but there is a pretty obvious lesson here. Even the company most committed to Bitcoin doesn’t want to end up selling it just because a payment is due.
People do this all the time. Put basically every spare cent into BTC or alts, then something expensive happens in real life right in the middle of a dump. Now you’re selling because you have to, not because you changed your mind.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. Keep some money in the bank, some USDC in your own wallet or on something you already use like Aave, Coinbase or Nexo. Just enough that one bad month doesn’t force you to sell something you planned to hold for years.
Holding cash can look like wasted money when the market is going up. It looks a lot better when you suddenly need it.

This sounds like going back to the early days of bitcoin and L1 alts when everything but a CEX waited for 'Full Confirmation'.
LTC is usually under 20 minutes but BTC can take an hour.
The reasons are real, but a lot of stuff just doesn't wait any more. Or works via wraps on EVM which settle differently.
You not getting your refund would be a failure of a procedure that's probably operated manually, and definitely theft. 'losing' one customer's tokens in the wrong circumstance could be the end of the company.
At the speed of fiat and bureaucracy, you would get your refund, $1 or $1m. Or you would read articles about Trezor failing out of business. Also, three days doesn't sound that bad lol.

I hate him but at the same time it's his election win that took BTC to an ATH of 20% at 125k. I'd say regardless of his idiotic actions he's raised awareness of BTC and crypto, with some things like talk of BTC treasury positive and others like enormous financial fraud and rugpulling very negative.
But BTC hits new highs and low lows no matter who is in office or what they do. It's one of its biggest signatures. Totally agree with the above that it's not largely significant. Next president could try to ban BTC. No point predicting everything's gonna be better or worse when office changes.

Honestly this is just depressing. In this world of constant struggle and competing in the rat race, as miserable as it is, why deprive yourself even more of the one joy that you as a human can experience... Like I mean I get it, you want to save up BTC ... But to what end? At the end of the day it's just money isn't it? Is money all that for you? For some it rules their world, which is sad. I'd rather enjoy the sentimental things in life like going on a trip with a loved one, eating a good meal, having a good laugh, then depriving oneself in order to reach some mundane my monetary goal when at the end of the day, on that day you lie on your death bed, you won't be able to take a single cent with you. So why? Just enjoy yourself and live a little
