News for the gist of things. Most news is bullshit to keep you coming back for more news. NVDA & BTC are in the news hourly if not minute-by-minute. Every few days Buffett or Burry or the Fed, etc is mentioned. It's the scandal sheets for the investment world. A lot of it is ai generated.
Maybe try Bloomberg.
I never buy IPOs.

ALTs are drifting siewards following BTC drift. BTC is struggling to remain within the long term ascending channel.
Locally BTC is following a descending wedge (see attached posts) which indicates a consolidation before a leg up. So if BTC remains in the channel and closes the month aboge 66100, (see post below), that is above the middlec of the last red monthly candle, this would be a strong bullish sign. If it follows the wedge for some other weeks ,falling down toward 58000$, then ADA will probably fall down to the 0,1$ region.
In both cases, price would later recover as soon as BTC has resumed the movement upwards.
The number of shorts (ADAUSD) in Tradingviews is still a bit high (858000), while longs have fallen shortly below 7mln.

None of what you typed is correct, mate.
>Do you think they are just waiting until bitcoin is money so they can actually spend it?
Are you living under a rock?
Anyway, here's how spending bitcoin IRL looks like: https://youtu.be/Tlhvnpi2ukA
I'm using Bitcoin almost on a daily basis. Buying groceries, paying for meals, taxis, domains/hosting, VPN...
Spend and replace is usually the name of the game so no, I'm not spending bitcoin while saving in cash.
If you're thinking about spending some, here are my favorite directories:
http://lightningnetworkstores.com/
https://btcmap.org - awesome map, you can even add your local vendors in, once you orangepill them.
https://acceptlightning.com/list.html
https://spend-sats.com/
https://spendabit.co/
https://directory.btcpayserver.org/
There's also an option of buying gift cards
https://thebitcoincompany.com/
https://bitrefill.com
https://www.egifter.com/buy-gift-cards-with-bitcoin - this one's least fave because they use a shitty custodian for payments but are handy for a few cards.
Spend and earn some sats back:
https://foldapp.com - save up to 20% Starbucks, Uber, Target , whole foods , Dunkin
https://www.lolli.com – save up to 30% by spending BTC anywhere but primarily USA stores
https://satsback.com/stores-list - save up to 20% by spending BTC anywhere but primarily Europe stores.

Unlikely that's you'll reach whole-coiner status based on current income and contributions - at least not any time soon, but I wouldn't worry about that at all. Just keep putting what you can into it (and assume that you will hold it for at least 4years), and wait to see what happens.

If BTC continues it historic adoption (even accounting for diminishing returns over time), you'll still be in a great place over time. Some people might not like to hear this, but shaving off some profits after you're up 2x or more, then holding those profits to re-buy bitcoin during the bear markets, can also allow you to increase your btc stack significantly over the years -- I wouldn't sell it all, but would definitely consider selling 50% if I'm up a lot)
I recommend the DCA approach \[always\], but when things get euphoric (ie when it went over 100k last year) that would have been a great time to take some profits and then buy after the price went down >50%.
I might get torched by the 'never sell' people. But, I think 'never sell' only works when people are already wealthy and have passive revenue streams or the ability to borrow tons of money at near 0% interest. For someone making 3k/month, I'd definitely sell periodically, improve your life, and try to buy more bitcoin during bear markets.

Couldn’t you just set your cost basis to zero at that point? You clearly own the BTC. Banks just care about the taxes. Set it to zero and you’re good in the US. For early adopters, the fee is nominal.
I thought your post was going to be a DD on how many people have lost their keys. Now that would have been cool.

They provided a mix of mining pool and crypto trading/lending platform.
So many miners would actually just lend their BTC, ETH and whatever to poolin for interest. Was deemed okish as it was the biggest mining platform at the time, until pan gambled too much with borrowed money and lost lots of customer funds in the process ..

BTC is the only asset I have any conviction in for the long term. It’s a great time to buy right now. I’ve been DCA since it first dropped to 60K this year. Will be 250K sooner or later.

More than anything, BTC is sensitive to interest rates, while the Nasdaq currently swings with the mood around the AI story. I think this may be why the two have been diverging. There is a FED decision coming up on Wednesday. If they hold rates steady, bitcoin will rise.

My apologies, when you strictly measure from July '21-July '26, you are correct. But you're comparing to BTC after a ~45% drop. I was comparing to peaks. Sure, the return looks shitty when you measure from the BTC bottom when the S&P is bonkers right now. If you moved the dates to 1 year prior, BTC clearly outperforms.
> But given the risk investing in BTC, you should expect higher returns than a basic index fund
That would be my investment hope, yes. I don't own any BTC, only ETH ... but I see a similar return so far. It has not done well lately, despite huge technological upgrades and institutional adoption. I have no retort for this, it hasn't performed well. Damn near every measurable metric on ETH/Ethereum has been improving or going up, the price itself simply hasn't followed.

Their initial press release mentioned that they are planning on adding support for more cryptocurrencies in the future. My guess is that the timeline will depend on how popular the initial rollout of ETH and BTC is.

It was harder to buy bitcoin back in 2009 than you think. No one wanted to sell it, and if you wanted to buy it, you’d probably have to pay a crazy amount, like $400 for 1500 BTC on eBay. I tried to buy 2500 BTC for $25 in the IRC channel back in 2009 and they kicked me out. Ever since then, I guess I’ve had a grudge against Bitcoin and have only spent it on drugs so far. I’m gonna finally start regularly buying it. But the days of a Lambo and mansion are pretty much over

> returns on BTC are rapidly diminishing
Nobody ever said it would be infinite returns. That is silly. That is a silly argument. With *any* asset, the most outsized gains will be when it is a new asset. Bitcoin's mcap is $1.303 Trillion ... it's not going to move like a small cap asset anymore,

Dca because who really has time to track the price and charts unless you're a full time trader.
We all got jobs, families, relationships, friends, day to day life to be present at.
In the end Im buying my BTC for the future me. 15-30 years time frame. It crashes 20-50% well good thing I don't need any of that value of BTC.
